“Nessuno in Europa è stato capace quanto noi di bruciare risorse senza avere in cambio un po’ di crescita economica e occupazione”. E’ quanto riporta oggi un articolo pubblicato su corriere.it, a firma di Sergio Rizzo, che analizza i dati dello studio su spesa pubblica e investimenti infrastrutturali elaborato per l’Ance dall’economista Mario Baldassarri.
In particolare, tra il 2001 e il 2012, la spesa pubblica è passata da 536 a 805 miliardi (+15,9% in termini reali). Una crescita forsennata che ha riguardato esclusivamente la spesa corrente, mentre gli investimenti pubblici sono crollati, ingoiati – come sottolinea Rizzo – da una burocrazia che si è gonfiata a dismisura.
Lenta ma inesorabile, dal 2004 a oggi, la discesa degli investimenti in infrastrutture. A questo punto cosa sarebbe successo alla nostra economia se gli investimenti infrastrutturali non fossero stati tagliati? La risposta fornita dallo studio di Baldassarri è lampante: un incremento del Pil e più occupazione.
