12th of May 2023 – Accompanying persons guided tour

The Markets of Trajan are an archaeological complex with absolutely unique characteristics in Rome and in the world. In fact, they represent a “neighborhood” that has lived through the evolution of the city from the imperial age to the present day, constantly reused and transformed: from strategic administrative center of the Imperial Forums, to noble residence, to military fortress, to prestigious seat of a convent. In a continuous becoming, which can be felt in the architectural transformations and in the signs of the different “hands” that in the various eras have readjusted the complex to its various functions, to come down to us and begin a new “season” of life.

12th of May 2023 – Informal Dinner

The restaurant “Da Meo Patacca,” formerly known as Osteria, has been an icon of Trastevere and an ‘institution in Rome for sixty years, having been born and raised in the setting of Piazza dei Mercanti. The piazzas, which in the nineteenth-century period represented a place of gathering and sociability, saw the rise of a number of traditions, foremost among them the setting of very long tables of diners who gathered with their families, along with friends and acquaintances, to dine and celebrate Sundays and holy days. In Trastevere, especially, this custom served to preserve a popular and specific identity, as recounted by famous authors including Gioacchino Belli, Trilussa and other distinguished artists. There was meeting, eating, drinking, singing… and it was in this atmosphere that artists and writers found inspiration by being in contact with the ‘authenticity of the people.
